After her conversion, Professor Eta Linnemann exposed the idolatrous calf of Vatican II modernism, associated with the historical-critical method in theology. Here are her statements:
“The formation of hypotheses in Old and New Testament science is a self-stabilizing system.
A sixty-hour work-week is common for such a researcher – and this level of effort goes on all one’s life, until intellectual and physical strength fail. The theology professor inevitably gains the secure conviction that God’s Word cannot be understood without careful use of the hypothetical constructs of Old and New Testament so-called science.
The theology student passes on to his congregation the conviction with which he has been indoctrinated: Holy Scripture yields its meaning only through use of the historical-critical method. Parishioners receive a condensed version of what was learned in college.
Nowhere is so much ‘taken on faith’ as in the study of the historical-critical method. The average student accepts 80-90 percent of the hypotheses. These basic assumptions are placed on the same level as fact, not in theory, of course, but certainly in practical application. That is, one makes use of them as if they were facts. Anyone who incorporates these basic assumptions into his thinking is influenced and ultimately changed by them. The risk involved in critical theological study is so great because such change takes place inexorably and imperceptibly. One breathes in an atmosphere as deadly as that polluted with carbon monoxide, an odourless and colourless gas difficult to detect.” No less difficult to detect are the harmful effects of critical theological study.
If the Church makes access to the priesthood conditional only on the completion of regulated studies in these theological faculties, she is at the same time authorizing these faculties, as they are, to have a “clear” conscience in this respect. What a great responsibility before God, the students and the faithful any bishop has who remains silent about the spread of this heretical method in the theological faculties and in the diocese!
In essence, HCT causes a loss of faith, but this is specifically called a ‘crisis of faith’, with the implication that it is about its development and improvement, not its degradation, which is what it is. A professor of theology told the students: “After a while you will have a crisis of faith. But this is normal. After overcoming this crisis, you will gain a new perspective not only on Scripture and the Church, but also on other religions!” Let us add that this new perspective is not really connected with a crisis, but with the loss of saving faith! The student will, in fact, no longer accept Scripture as the inspired Word of God, but will accept the heresy that pagan cults are equivalent to Christianity and mission is useless. Cunning questions have a strong influence, leading the students astray onto the path of heresy, for example: “Is your faith so weak and your trust in God so little that you don’t even want to entertain these thoughts?” The misled student is unable to resist these temptations, even out of pride.
Quoting Professor Linnemann: “At the same time, the student faces powerful peer pressure. Fellow students are ‘coinstructors’, giving decisive direction in the process of socialization. This is especially true of upperclassmen, or those who have distinguished themselves by special ability or aptitude. A student who is a believer, who because of his attitude towards God’s Word is unwilling to accept certain methods or results of the historical-critical method, is generally discriminated against. Such a student is smiled at patronizingly, mocked, and treated as an outsider.
To the extent that the student is increasingly initiated into the historical-critical mode of thinking, he becomes alienated from those with whom he once shared close fellowship in the faith. They no longer ‘speak the same language’, and the student has a hard time listening to them. He no longer understands them, and vice versa. Isolated, the person starts thinking himself superior.
The student also must present papers which demonstrate that the approach of this heretical method has been sufficiently appropriated. He is compelled to think, to talk, and to write historically-critically. This leads to a weighty shift in thinking and in faith. The person is no longer the same. What was learned in studies interposes itself between the Christian and the Word and bars access.”
May the same system of pressure be used in theological faculties for students to be truly converted from the spirit of the world and to receive the Spirit of Christ! May the students be led to a new life with Christ and in Christ through interior prayer, true repentance and the way of following Christ. May zeal for the salvation of immortal souls from eternal damnation motivate them like the apostles. The apostles preached Christ and witnessed in season and out of season, so that at least some souls might be saved. These theological scholars, on the other hand, are spiritual corpses, trained pests spreading spiritual infection and spiritual death. What a tragedy and what a paradox! Who will bear responsibility for this before God’s judgment seat? All this is the fruit of the Church’s stubborn rejection of true repentance and its unwillingness to call truth truth and heresy heresy.
Women are the most likely to be affected by the spiritual poison of HCT, which is why it is encouraged that women study theology, obtain academic degrees or even teach in theological faculties. Today, the pseudo-pope is even introducing the ordination of women as deacons and priests.
Decalogue of the historical-critical method (theology)
The first heresy of HCT: The reality of God is excluded beforehand
In his encyclical Pascendi Dominici gregis, St Pius X states: “Blind that they are, and leaders of the blind, inflated with a boastful science, they have reached that pitch of folly where they pervert the eternal concept of truth and the true nature of the religious sentiment.”
The second heresy of HCT: The supreme authority is no longer the Word of God or the Church, but the “principle of science”
Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger wrote: “An exegesis in which the Bible no longer lives and is understood within the living organism of the Church becomes archaeology: the dead bury their dead.”
The third heresy of HCT: The Bible and the Christian faith are on a par with pagan religions and their “sacred” writings
The historical-critical method ignores the fact that the Bible is the true and only Holy Scripture!
The fourth heresy of HCT: According to HCT, the Bible is not the Word of God
HCT does not believe in the divine inspiration of Scripture; it views Scripture as a mere literary and theological creation, promising us nothing and binding us to nothing.
What does the Church say about the inspiration of Scripture? God is the author of Scripture in the sense that He inspires its human authors. The Holy Spirit works in them, and through them infallibly teaches saving truth.
The fifth heresy of HCT: HCT is the new Magisterium that alone can interpret the Scriptures
What did Cardinal Ratzinger say about this? “It is a prejudice of evolutionist origin to say that the Bible can only be understood through the study of its origins and development… Many saints were uneducated and often no experts in exegetics, and yet it was them who understood the Bible best.”
The sixth heresy of HCT: What is written in Scripture could in no way be like that
The exegete focuses on discovering and resolving “difficulties” in the “biblical text”. The better the exegete, the more resourceful he will be in this regard.
The seventh heresy of HCT: HCT determines what is true in the Bible and what is a lie – a myth
This attitude alone is very offensive and demonic. Everything supernatural, that is, all miracles, is considered to be a lie – a myth. God’s omnipotence is not taken into account. Behind HCT is the spirit of atheism, which lies and distorts the truth.
The eighth heresy of HCT: Separating the Church from the Scriptures
Cardinal Ratzinger said: “The bond between Bible and Church has been broken. In the Protestant sphere this separation began in the eighteenth century and of late has also found entry into some Catholic scholarly circles. This is the historico-critical interpretation of the Bible (HCT).”
The ninth heresy of HCT: According to HCT, Jesus is neither God nor Saviour
This erroneous claim is a renaissance of the heresy of Arianism, which the Church Fathers spoke out against at the Council of Nicaea 1,700 years ago. That heresy was categorically condemned in 325. It would be difficult to find a Catholic theologian who would openly deny that Jesus is the Son of God. They will all claim to accept this truth, but they will immediately add in what sense they think it should be understood.
The tenth heresy of HCT: The Ten Commandments (Decalogue) are no longer valid according to HCT
The Old Testament is largely set aside as something that supposedly does not concern us. It is understood – in whole or in part – as a kind of spiritual construct, a product of the patriarchal social structures and production relations of the time, which it was supposed to justify and stabilize. According to this theory, the Ten Commandments are no longer binding on us. This is another heresy.
Are the Ten Commandments really not binding today? No, not so! The Ten Commandments are binding on Christians, and a believer must obey them. The Ten Commandments were not abolished, but integrated by Jesus’ interpretation.
After reading the heresies of the “new HCT Decalogue” given by the “new Magisterium”, one is shocked by the pride manifested in the arrogance of those who want to call themselves teachers of the Christian faith. On the other hand, one is also astonished by Christians who, unfortunately, are governed by another kind of pride, namely the fear of ridicule. And so Catholics become so stupid that they are deceived for fear of being seen as unscientific and uneducated. It is reminiscent of the famous fairy tale “The Emperor’s New Clothes”. Therefore, there must be Catholics who have the simple faith of a child and who will strip away the veneer of pride in which the deceivers and the deceived display their new clothes of heretical doctrine.
Today, the arch-heretic Bergoglio parades in his fictitious papal clothes and allows himself to be admired. If only this embarrassing tragicomedy would soon end in a fiasco like the emperor’s new clothes! Then the bubble of HCT modernism and of Vatican II will burst.
The consequences of modernism for the Church are terrible. HCT is corroding the saving faith, and the salvation of millions of immortal souls is at stake. Because the Catholic Church has avoided true repentance for all sorts of reasons, God has punished it by allowing those who publicly deny the fundamental truths of the faith to occupy the highest positions in the Church. The Holy Spirit who convicts of sin (cf. Jn 16:8-9) has been cast out, and hence such darkness, blindness and cowardice! Catholics cannot see the heretical system of lies and are too cowardly to call it by its true name. Is the call of Jesus and the call of all the prophets and the Queen of Prophets to repentance still valid today? Yes, it is! But Jesus also warns: “Unless you repent, you will all perish!” (Lk 13:3)
